Island Bay Villa

Our clients came to us with an exciting project in Island Bay, Wellington. A semi-retired couple looking to downsize without compromising on the stunning home they spent 30 years building.

The brief was to create an oasis for our clients to retreat to, using cool blues, soft greys and a vibrant pop of pohutakawa red. We sourced antiques and gave treasured family heirlooms a new lease on life with fresh fabrics & trims.

We utilised native timbers for the flooring, window and door frames and in the furniture choices wherever we could, and added a dose of English charm with a beautiful butlers sink, half height tongue & groove panelling and custom shaker style cabinetry for all the bespoke built in storage.

Many lovely hours were spent picking out Colefax & Fowler, Romo and Schumacher velvets and linens that were to be used for the bespoke upholstery and drapery, adding necessary softness and texture. The Resene colours that have been used throughout the home, on the walls, ceilings and cabinetry, create a cohesive space, flowing seamlessly from room to room.
