Berhampore Bungalow

Our clients recently purchased their first home, and they were clear from the outset that they wanted their study and hallway to feel joyful, expressive, and unmistakably theirs. Having worked hard to reach this milestone, they were eager to celebrate it with a scheme that felt energising and optimistic. Both drawn to dopamine décor, and unafraid of colour, they saw these spaces as the perfect opportunity to fully embrace their creativity.

The study needed to inspire focus without feeling corporate or muted. A saturated, layered palette brings stimulation, individuality, and a sense of momentum to the workday. Rather than separating productivity from personality, they envisioned a room that energised them. This was realised by enveloping almost every surface in colour: doors, wardrobe and trim in calm Stillwell Bay, and walls in dusky Clifton. The bespoke built-in desk and shelving, painted in seven vibrant hues, introduce playful pops of colour and create an undeniable wow factor. Investment pieces complete the space beautifully, including a Blanchett’s sofa bed upholstered in fuchsia wool from Warwick, bespoke cushions by Schumacher and Molly Mahon, and a striking blind in Harlequin’s Klimt linen.

The hallway, experienced first and last each day, was designed to make equal impact. Rather than treating it as a purely functional corridor, it delivers a confident burst of personality that sets the tone for the home and warmly welcomes guests. Warm-toned Okains Bay adorns the walls, paired with punchy Separation Point on the trim and doors, while a funky pink and orange vintage Turkish rug grounds the scheme and ties it all together.

After years of renting neutral spaces that never truly felt like them, choosing colour became more than a stylistic decision. It represents permanence, self-expression, and joy – a celebration of this new chapter in a home that feels unapologetically theirs.
